Project Challenge

A longtime goal at Sidian Agency has been to parlay our experiences producing and directing commercials into a television series pilot. The first step in our plan began in 2016, when we organized a writers room and began developing an original IP called Polygonerz. Our goal was to product six 12-14 episodes covering one season of the story. This included creating a SAG approved production, shot on 8K Red cameras in Downtown Los Angeles. 

Discovery & Strategy

While finalizing our Season 1 scripts, we began producing a mood board covering the visual language of our series. We wanted a consistent visual language and tone along each episode, for 4 directors to follow and improve. 

After scouting locations, and casting our actors and staff, we were off to the races with exactly 5 weeks to shoot six episodes. We found a great warehouse in downtown LA, next door to the Grand Central Market, allowing us to shoot and break for breakfast and lunch within the historic food center. The space was large enough to develop 4 individual stages, and with great planning and coordination we were able to shoot two episodes simultaneously. 

We also wanted to create a line of merchandise utilizing our IP.  In turn, we reached out to the Tokyo based artist Foniks for some custom illustrations based on our daily coverage.
